This morning we woke up to a winter wonderland of snow. We spent the night in Island Park, Idaho. We stayed up there this summer and thought it was beautiful then, but I think it was even more beautiful today! The trees were heavy with dripping boughs of snow. I would hold as still as I could and listen to the silence. There is nothing like the stillness and silence of a snowing winter day.
I am reminded of my youth when I would go skiing as often as possible without worrying if the roads were bad or the weather was frightful, as long as I could get on the mountain and feel like I was flying. And, hear the quiet.
