This week Shawn was chosen as one of four 9th Graders to receive "Falcon of the Quarter" at school. They also chose four each from the seventh and eighth grade levels.
Student names are submitted by teachers, put through a jury, and voted on by teachers. You can only receive the award once. Anyway, it's a pretty big deal. And... no, I didn't submit his name. I barely no what's going on outside my classroom. I even forgot to vote. :/
The students had no idea they are being honored until they came through the doors to the library to find their parents and the administration waiting for them. They had a family breakfast and award ceremony where he received a plaque, a front of the line lunch pass and a packet of letters from each of his teachers.
They had their pictures taken professionally to be on display at the school so, Shawn is making his mark.
No matter where he goes he's doing outstanding things. He continues to amaze us and make us proud. Way to go son!!! You're on top of the world.
Simple Pleasure: Being Shawn's mom.
